About Us
Welcome to The History Playground, a unique historical education company based in the historic city of Norwich. We specialise in bringing history to life for primary school children across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire. Our mission is to make learning history an exciting and engaging experience for young minds.
Our services are centred around the delivery of interactive history workshops, designed specifically for primary school children. These workshops are not your typical classroom lessons. We believe in a hands-on approach, allowing children to interact with historical artefacts and replicas, making the past tangible and real. Our workshops are not only educational but also fun and engaging, ensuring that children are captivated and inspired.

Welcome to The History Playground! We're thrilled to have you here! Since our launch in September 2024, we've been on a mission to provide schools with exciting and affordable workshops that make history come alive. Our engaging programs align with national curriculum objectives, ensuring that students not only learn but also have a blast doing it! Let's embark on this fun-filled journey through history together!
I am a qualified, practising teacher, with over 10 years experience within primary schools. I have a real passion for history and seeing the ever spiralling costs for coach travel and workshops, I decided to set up The History Playground as an affordable alternative.
I have a great fondness for the Vikings which is our flagship workshop and it has received excellent feedback from the schools we have visited so far.
Our latest workshop 'The Battle of Britain' is also a subject very close to my heart having served in the Royal Air Force for 12 years, where I carried out the same duties that would have occurred during the war, enabling me to provide great insight (and tell some personal stories) to the pupils.
I aim to make every workshop an unforgettable experience, bringing energy and excitement to the day. I am flexible and adaptable, and I work collaboratively to ensure the workshops runs smoothly.

Testimonials and Feedback
The Year 5 Interactive Viking Day was a really engaging experience for all children. It was really good to see every pupil in Year 5 fully involved throughout the activities, and the inclusion of the large map added an exciting visual and geographical element to their learning. It helped them visually see and understand more about where the Vikings came from, invaded and settled in Britain. Having the opportunity to handle physical artefacts was particularly valuable, giving the children a connection to Viking life and helping to spark their curiosity. The joy of handling these artefacts was clear to see.Overall, it was a memorable and enriching event for the pupils. I would recommend and do the experience all over again.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for today! The children (and I!) absolutely loved having you! Thank you for travelling so far too, I really do appreciate it!

I just wanted to email to say a big thank you for the fantastic Viking Day experience we had on Tuesday. The whole year group has been buzzing about how good it was, how much they learnt and how much fun they had. We have also received some excellent feedback from parents, one of whom said their child had come home and talked (at length!) about the whole day and how he’d called it ‘the best day ever!’. Your enthusiasm and passion really brought the topic to life for the children. We look forward to having you back next year hopefully when we teach the topic again with a new set of year 5s.
