The Battle of Britain

Book an interactive, hands on workshop that explores the Battle of Britain!​

 

 

What will the day involve?

 

An interactive exploration of the Battle of Britain ​relating to the Key Stage 2 history curriculum.

The day will cover - 

  • Sir Robert Watson-Watt and his impact on RADAR

  • The Dowding System, how incoming raids were defended,

  • Aircraft recognition

  • Tales of Battle of Britain pilots

  • The effect on the modern-day Royal Air Force.

 

 

There will be a series of activities as your pupils will form teams and become fully involved as a vital cog within ‘The Dowding System’, making informed decisions to protect Britain against incoming raids.

There will also be opportunity during the day to explore genuine and replica WW2 artefacts.

We aim to arrive by 8.30am, ready to start the day at 9am. The sessions can be flexible to fit in with your school day with an aim to finish by 3pm.​​
